Synchronized Skating is an excellent way to build skating skills in a team environment. It is comprised of an on-ice and off-ice session. Participants must attend both sessions as off-ice class is used in part to work on the group routine learning what will then be transposed to the ice.

Choose installments for a payment of only $30 a month. Special Welcome Back Synchro Fee of $150 will be offered again this season. Families with 2 or more participants will receive a discount. Contact us for more details.

Note: With a low registration fee, the team will be fundraising to offset costs.

All Jumpstart , Juniors & Seniors under the age of 15yrs before July 1st 2019 are eligible to participate in Synchro. Skaters will be grouped according to level.

Skaters must plan to attend all practices and competitions. In a team sport an individual's dedication and commitment will set the tone and ability for the team to gel as one. In all cases of absence, notification is requested. Contact your Coaching Professional by phone or in person. Follow up with email if it is advance notification. If you miss more than three practices, the coach has the right to ask the skater to take the position of an alternate. Open communication with the coach is expected.

Program Description:

Upon the completion of the CanSkate program, STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. It teaches these skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada tests through a nationally standardized testing system.

JumpStart - is intended to introduce and fast track new skaters coming out of CanSkate who are interested in figure skating to the STARskate program. Minimum requirement is completion of Canskate level 4, 5 or 6 or skaters at the STAR 1 level with recommendation by a club professional. Skaters participate in group lessons for a specified time with a Club Professional. The cost of these lessons is included in the registration fee. In addition to group lessons provided, parents may hire a coach for private lessons if they wish. Though encouraged for further progression and instruction time, there is no obligation or requirement to do so. If private lessons are taken during group time, they should not interfere with or disrupt the progress of the group lesson. The skater may leave for a private lesson and rejoin the group session. However, the Club Professional may not be able to reiterate the missed portion. Skaters may take private lessons on a non-jumpstart time for the duration of the lesson. A skater is eligible to advance to the Junior Level upon recommendation by the Club Professional or having completed the STAR 1 level.

JumpStart sessions on Wednesdays & Saturdays are in the STARskate format; Sundays lessons are in the Canskate format and runs jointly with Advanced Canskate/Sledge sessions (levels 4 -6 only). Any unfinished Canskate badges will be assessed during the Sunday Session. Skaters are expected to attend their off class on Wednesdays as part of their training.  These are included in your registration fee. Private lessons are booked directly with the coach of your choosing. See our link under Coaches for more information.

*Price does not include the annual Skate Canada Registration Fee for the 2019- 2020 season.  Fee will be added at checkout if applicable.

Program Description:

STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. It teaches these skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada tests through a nationally standardized testing system.

Junior STARSkate - is intended for skaters who have completed STAR 1 or upon recommendation by an SPSC Club Professional and/or working on STAR 2. Skaters may take private lessons during designated practice time on a junior session or on a non-junior session for the duration of the lesson time. A skater is eligible to advance to the Senior level upon completion of the complete STAR 2 or on recommendation by a club coach. Skaters are expected to attend the off-ice classes as part of their training. This is included in your registration fee.
